Therapy for Anxiety & Depression
Rediscover peace and confidence in yourself.
You’re functioning on the outside. So why do you feel like you’re falling apart on the inside?
The pressure to do life “right” and fear of doing it “wrong” feels paralyzing. You find yourself over-analyzing, over-compensating, or over-reacting. Expectations and obligations weigh you down. Sometimes you can barely move. Other times, you just want to run away and start over.
Anxiety and depression can be two sides of the same survival coin. One side compels you to act with urgency or grasp for a sense of control. The other side immobilizes, dares not to hope, and forfeits any efforts to change.
Sometimes the two sides take turns. Exhausted, you struggle to make it through the day, but the moment your head hits the pillow, the relentless buzz of racing thoughts intercept your peace.
You want to be present in your life and with the people you care about, but not when feels like this.
Sound familiar?
-
Even simple tasks and decisions feel overwhelming.
You either default to people-pleasing or become defensive and irritable by the demands. Depleted by both, you withdraw from social opportunities and relationships, and are left feeling empty, alone, and misunderstood.
You hate playing the victim, but life feels unfair, like the deck is stacked against you.
-
No matter what you accomplish, it never feels like enough. The success you’ve achieved seems elusive and uncertain.
Comparing yourself to others or preoccupied by what they think of you keeps you trying to prove yourself and exhausted by the effort.
As your own worst critic, you tally up every mistake, flaw, or missed opportunity adding insult to injury.
You lie awake replaying conversations in your mind or second-guessing decisions you made months or even years ago.
-
The future feels foreboding –personally, globally, or both. Current events, politics, and pressure to figure it all out makes you want to crawl into a hole and hide.
Distraught by the injustice in the world and plagued by a sense of powerlessness to change it makes you not even want to try.
Driven to distraction or dissociation, you engage in self-defeating cycles of avoidance, compulsion, and shame.
There’s nothing wrong with you…
Your brain is designed to help you survive difficult experiences and adapt to stress.
Anxiety is part of your internal alarm system. It alerts you to danger, uncertainty, or the possibility that something could go wrong. It helps you anticipate, problem-solve, and protect yourself. But when your nervous system stays in that heightened state for too long, it can leave you feeling mentally, emotionally, and physically depleted.
As exhaustion sets in, your energy begins to diminish in an effort to conserve resources. Over time, this chronic exhaustion can begin to look and feel like depression. You slow down, withdraw, or disconnect as your system tries to recover. Motivation disappears. Everything feels heavier. You numb out, avoid, or struggle to care about things the way you used to. You’ve been carrying too much for too long.
Anxiety and depression are not signs of weakness or failure. They are signals that something is out of balance, and you need care, connection, and healing.
